Institute for Nature Care and Development (INCD) started its journey with an aim to empower the under privileged sections of the society, the rural areas of India. In partnership with Center for Career and Life-Design Counselling, INCD attempts to inculcate in rural women, children and youth essential skills and knowledge, so that they are empowered to exploit their skill set in pursuit of socio-economic prospects. The Indian rural population and their physical and digital isolation disallow them to have direct connection with urban markets. INCD attempts at addressing the market separation of rural population by giving them necessary academic and vocational training in ‘phy-gital’ mode (physical and digital). At INCD, we focus on capacity building of both rural children and adult learners, to address the issue of rural empowerment on a holistic scale. INCD has been conducting BSS_certified (BSS is the National Development Agency established in 1952 and promoted by Planning Commission, Govt. of India) trainings for rural population across locales in West Bengal, in an attempt to boost their life and livelihood prospects.
INCD wishes to work for the comprehensive development of the underprivileged rural communities with a holistic approach. Our objectives are:-
- Equipping rural population with relevant information and knowledge through academic and vocational trainings
- Giving rural population access to global markets and opportunities so that they can promote their products and skills both locally and globally
- To facilitate them to adopt participatory and collaborative approach for solving their daily concerns
Vision: INCD’s vision is to create a more inclusive society through holistic development of rural community at large, with a focus towards empowering them with knowledge, information and opportunities so that they can live a dignified life and become contributing members of society.
The twin objective of community development and creation of market opportunities for the rural communities through providing academic and vocational trainings, coupled with digital literacy entrepreneurship development and communication skill training is what makes INCD’s model a self-sustainable one.
Mission: INCD’s mission is to generate empowering opportunities for marginalized rural Ibdian population by
- Providing them recognized certification based career-oriented academic and vocational training
- Inculcating confidence in the overall rural community through soft skill, entrepreneurship, financial and digital literacy training
- Providing them the opportunities to upgrade their acquired skills and improving the quality, productivity, efficiency of the trained workforce
